Huangshizhai Scenic Area — Star-Picking Platform

At the eastern end of Huangshizhai's summit extends a ridge about 20 meters high, at whose tip stands a viewing platform formed by two stacked sandstone blocks. The base rock covers about 20 square meters and is about 5 meters high; the rock above it is about 10 meters high with a platform 5 meters in diameter on top. Surrounded by iron railings, an ancient pine stands on it like an umbrella. Below lies a deep valley, above the sky. Standing on the platform, white clouds drift overhead and green peaks fill the valley below. On rainy days mist spreads all around, with peaks appearing and disappearing. On bright moonlit nights...
