Golden Whip Stream Scenic Area — Jumping Fish Pool

About 400 meters down the secluded gorge, a stream cascades into a pool roughly 20 square meters in area and 2 meters deep. The water is crystal clear and the stream stones are reddish. Beside the pool lies a huge square boulder 2 meters high and 2 meters wide. Two nanmu trees stand nearby, one upright with a canopy like a large umbrella. Sitting on the boulder and looking down, you can see schools of wild fish swimming leisurely. During spring peach-blossom floods or summer high water, the fish leap 70–80 cm above the surface, drifting and flying like falling petals.
