Huangshizhai Scenic Area — Golden Turtle Rock

Descending from the western side of Huangshizhai's summit, near Houka Gate, atop a stone peak with a flat platform sits a stone turtle about 5 meters long, head forward as if crawling. On clear days the turtle rock appears golden, hence the name Golden Turtle. Weather changes give it various colors and shapes, earning it aliases such as 'Sea of Clouds Golden Turtle,' 'Golden Turtle Exploring the Sea,' and 'Sunset Golden Turtle.' About two to three hundred meters down from the rear gate, looking back, the Golden Turtle Rock resembles a toad lifting its head.
