Yuanjiajie Scenic Area — Qiankun Pillar

A short walk west past the Heart-Linking Bridge brings you to a distinctive rectangular eight-pillar pavilion with upturned eaves, covering about 20 square meters with a stone-slab floor, shaded by green trees. On misty and rainy days, fog often drifts and clouds fly by, hence the name Qiankun Pavilion. The couplet reads: "A thousand peaks hold the sun and moon; one pillar secures heaven and earth." Leaning on the railing and looking down, a cliff over 300 meters high appears as if split by an axe, with dense vegetation and mysterious dark caves — only the sound of water is heard, but no stream valley is visible. About 50 meters from the stream, a giant peak rises over 300 meters high, dozens of meters in girth, perfectly round like a pillar, majestic and extraordinary.
